Your House's History

The 2-page bochure, How Old is My House, describes how you can utilize the resources of the Oakland Public Library’s Oakland History Room (OHR), and the city’s Planning Department’s Oakland Cultural Heritage Survey (OCHS) to learn about the history of your home. Staff at both the OHR and OCHS will help guide you through the process. How Old is My House was co-written by Betty Marvin, historic preservation planner with the Oakland Cultural Heritage Survey, and William Sturm, former managing librarian, Oakland History Room.
