Description:
The Bird Kage cocktail lounge, 4822 Telegraph Avenue (east side), Temescal district, Oakland, Calif. Charles "Charlie" Hardy Jr., a graduate of Oakland Technical High School and a former wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders (1960-62), opened the bar in 1975. The bar featured various types of live music over the years, most notably jazz.
