Walter Blumert Co., founded in 1941, was operated since circa 1960 by the Stump family Clarence, Peggy, Robert, and Joanne Stump. In circa 2005 they moved the business to Hayward. More recently the company, operating under the name Stump and Sons, has specialized in exterior cleaning. In 2016, a group of neighbors on 43rd Street formed a partnership and purchased the long vacant property, renovated the building, and in June 2018 opened Temescal Works, a coworking space.
