Context:
The creek culvert and bank-stabilizing sandbags were installed circa 1965. (See "Temescal Cr house demo 1965" scan of drawing of house to be demolished, from Appraisal Report prepared by John W. Hamilton, Vice President of Urban Property Research Co. in San Francisco.) The culvert was extended downstream from this point in the early 1970s (completed circa 1975) by the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (ACFCWCD), and a small park subsequently was built on this site. In the early 2000s, through a community effort, the park was improved, extended, and named FROG Park.
