"Statuto" Race, Telegraph Avenue at 47th Street, Temescal district, Oakland, Calif. Men at left with bullseye on their shirts are members of the Alfieri Athletic Club. Members of Unione Sportivo [exists today as the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club] are at right. The man in foreground with the bullhorn is Joseph A. Fiorio, proprietor of Fiorio Hardware [at Telegraph and 48th Street]. Fourth man to the right of police officer, wearing a light suit, is Stefano Persoglio.
