Pedrini's grocery and the North Temescal Post Office, southeast corner of Telegraph Avenue and 49th Street, Temescal district, Oakland, Calif. Decorations flags, wreaths, and "Hail to the Chief" sign were in honor of President Harrison.

Context:
Cypriano Pedrini, of Swiss-Italian origin, owned and operated the grocery and served as postmaster next door (as did his son). The post office was designated "North Temescal" because there was a town by the name of Temescal in southern California that earlier had established a post office.
