Description:

5008 Telegraph Avenue (the center storefront, looking east), Temescal district, Oakland, Calif. The building, now home to Pizzaiolo restaurant (formerly G&G hardware, whose sign can still be seen) and Standard and Strange mens clothing store, is Temescal's oldest surviving commercial structure. Built circa 1872, it was designated a City of Oakland landmark in 1983.

Description:

Oakland Railroad Company Car No. 11, Telegraph Avenue and 50th Street (looking east), Temescal district, Oakland, Calif. The Cattaneo Building, also known as the "Brick House" (now 5004-5010 Telegraph Avenue) can be seen in the background. The building, Temescal's oldest surviving commercial structure, built circa 1872, was designated a City of Oakland landmark in 1983.
