Northeast corner of Shattuck Avenue (looking east), and 54th Street, Temescal district, Oakland, Calif. The building 5400 and 5404 Shattuck Avenue which was for sale at the time this photograph was taken, as well as the building next door to the north, were demolished in the 1960s to make way for the Grove-Shafter Freeway (Highway 24).

Northeast corner of Shattuck Avenue and 54th Street (looking eastward), Temescal district, Oakland, Calif. A one-story commercial building with two storefronts (5400 and 5404 Shattuck Avenue) were demolished in the 1960s when Highway 24 (the Grove-Shafter Freeway) was built.
