Intersection of Grove Street (now Martin Luther King Jr. Way) and 38th Street (looking west), Temescal district (also known then as the Grove district), Oakland, Calif. Piggly Wiggly market occupies the corner storefront. Note the streetcar tracks running along Grove Street. The two-story brick building no longer stands. The residence at the far left, is today the duplex, 3723 and 3725 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
